Meet Josh
A Neighbor, A Veteran, and A Dad.
I’ve called Cottonwood home since 2005, moving here after completing my service in the U.S. Navy. But now my most important job is being a dad to my two boys, ages 10 and 13. With this, I come to know firsthand the challenges of navigating schoolwork at home!
Professionally, I have spent over 10 years in the classroom teaching Math and science to grades 6-12, combined with more than 8 years of private tutoring. I genuinely love the "lightbulb moments" that happen when a student finally understands a difficult concept that they have been working on. My goal is to bring that clarity to your child, combining the discipline I learned in the Navy with the patience I’ve learned as a father and teacher.
The Reason I Love My Work
My passion for tutoring stems from one moment: the instant a struggling student realizes, "I get it." That moment of clarity is priceless.
I spent over a decade as a teacher and now a private tutor, because I know a standardized curriculum doesn't work for everyone. My why is to cut through the confusion with a completely personalized approach, specifically designed to address those unique gaps in understanding. I do this to see students transform from overwhelmed to confident, and to know that I played a part in helping them believe in their own ability to succeed.
My Mission
To provide expert, personalized tutoring services—leveraging over a decade of professional teaching experience—to transform student confusion into academic mastery, thereby replacing household conflict and frustration with confidence and peace.
My Vision
To foster a future where academic success is synonymous with genuine student confidence and family harmony, eliminating the household stress traditionally associated with learning challenges.
